The confidence gap

Caring is not the same as
knowing what to do.

Managers are often the first to notice when someone's behaviour, attendance or performance changes. Yet many have never been shown how to approach the situation safely and constructively.

This training replaces uncertainty with a clear process—helping managers act earlier while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

After the training

Managers leave ready
to take useful action.

The focus is practical application: what to notice, what to say, what can help and when to involve someone else.

01

Recognise earlier

Notice changes in behaviour, performance and communication that may indicate stress or poor mental health.

02

Talk confidently

Open a supportive conversation, listen well and respond without overstepping the manager’s role.

03

Adjust appropriately

Explore practical reasonable adjustments that support the individual and remain workable for the organisation.

04

Signpost effectively

Know when and how to connect someone with internal support, professional services or urgent help.
