The challenge
Managers needed greater confidence in wellbeing conversations, more consistent understanding of stress and mental health, and clearer support pathways.
Results & case studies
Workplace wellbeing should create meaningful change. We use insight, evaluation and clear reporting to show what improved—and where attention is still needed.
Access to practical resources and tools
Based on University of Manchester pre- and post-training evaluation data.
What proof looks like
Attendance tells you that people showed up. Evaluation tells you whether they left better equipped to act.
We focus on useful measures: confidence, knowledge, practical capability, workforce health insight and the actions organisations take next.
Featured case study
The University partnered with We Are Wellbeing to strengthen managers’ ability to support employee wellbeing, communicate effectively and take earlier action.
Managers needed greater confidence in wellbeing conversations, more consistent understanding of stress and mental health, and clearer support pathways.
We delivered our CPD-accredited Manager Training: Wellbeing at Work programme through practical sessions, realistic scenarios and evidence-based tools.
Pre- and post-training surveys captured changes across six areas of manager capability, making the effect of the programme visible.
The measured change
Score increases shown below compare delegate responses before and after the programme.
Managers left with more practical tools they could use.
Greater confidence in meaningful wellbeing conversations.
Improved capability to communicate clearly and supportively.
Stronger understanding of workplace wellbeing.
Better awareness of early signs of stress and poor mental health.
More confidence in the manager’s wellbeing responsibilities.

From learning to action
Managers felt more equipped to hold meaningful wellbeing conversations and respond supportively.
Greater awareness helps managers notice signs of stress or poor mental health before problems escalate.
The largest improvement was access to resources—showing that delegates left with tools they could apply.
Delegate feedback
Short reflections from managers who took part in the programme.
“Great course, lots of information and techniques to use.”
“Extremely relatable and useful for the workplace.”
The programme was described as engaging, practical and valuable for managers across the University.
Evidence built in
A result only means something when there is a clear starting point. Our approach connects the intervention to before-and-after insight, so organisations can see movement rather than rely on impressions.
Use surveys, health data or pre-training evaluation to establish the starting point.
Direct budget towards the support most relevant to the evidence.
Repeat the evaluation to identify progress, remaining gaps and the next priority.
Training
Measure changes in confidence, knowledge and practical capability—not simply attendance.
Health checks
Give employees personal results while showing organisations aggregate health risks and recommended actions.
Strategy
Repeat insight gathering after interventions to understand what changed and where further investment is needed.
